Purchase Information
What warranties does my purchase come with?
Any new & used item sold at our firm comes with our 24 month service warranty in addition to any factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair or replace, whichever in our estimation is the more advisable, pads, corks, springs or other parts required, at no charge to the customer. The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance charges.
Cases and plating finishes are not covered by our service warranty but may sometimes be covered by factory guarantees.
Even though repairs are essentially “free” for the first two years, after that period has expired, we remain at your service to maintain and repair your musical equipment forever. It’s our “service after the sale” promise and has been since 1953!
Where do I take my instrument to get fixed?
In the event that a customer requires service under factory guarantees or Wichita Band’s service warranty, the item must be returned to us and not directly to the manufacturer.
If you take your instrument to another store for repairs, it may void any remaining warranty on the instrument. Reason being, if you take your instrument to another shop and are unsatisfied with their repairs then bring it to us to fix, the additional time it takes to undo another's work may exponentially increase the amount time time, labor, parts, etc. that have to be used to return the instrument to working order than if the instrument simply came to us first.

Do we offer any layaway plans?
Layaway plans may be available on some items. Typically, layaway plans must be completed within 3-4 months. We also restrict layaway payments to a $50 minimum to help the customer avoid excessive fee payments.
Do we offer financing? What are the options?
Financing is typically for our intermediate and professional level instrument purchases. For entry level student instruments please see our rental page. Currently, we are please to be able to offer three different financing options.
Do we buy instrument back?
The simple answer is: sometimes!
The longer explanation is: it depends on many fluctuating circumstances. We will need to know what the product is, how much money you are looking to get back on the instrument, & most importantly we will need to evaluate the instrument to assess current condition and potential repair cost. Once we have all that information we may be able to negotiate if we have a market. However, if our stock is already full or repairs exceed the cost of the instrument, etc. we may have to pass. So, it never hurts to ask, just know we cannot make any promises until we have more information.
