William S. Haynes solid silver flute number 42,615. (Boston, 1976)
Plateau keywork to low C, off-set G, extruded tone-holes, y-arm construction.
The instrument was constructed with .016 silver tube, soldered tone-holes.
Sounding length is 601 mm (A=440), the embouchure measures 10.0 X 12.1, giving the instrument a wonderful tone color.
Total weight is 441 grams. All pads and corks are new. The original case is in very good condition.
Still in production in Boston. Our flute is 100% made in America.
Recommended for the adult amateur or a discriminating musician who appreciates the wonderful voice of a Golden Age Haynes.
*** PLEASE NOTE: This same instrument was sold by us in March of 1976. The buyer was eighteen years old at the time and had plans to be a music major at our local university. A year or so later, she switched majors and, alas, played this beautiful flute only a few times after that decision was made. It means we have full history and provenance on this fine flute from Day One.
