Vintage 1970s Viola d'Amore from the workshop of Wolfgang Uebel, Rare!
The instrument was ordered by us back 50+ years ago, and has never been sold! We've had it in our possession the entire time.
Very rare Viola D'Amore from Wolfgang Uebel, who was a German master stringed instrument maker in the 20th century. The Uebel family of violin makers can be traced back to Johann Christian Uebel, who worked in the early 18th century. No label on this instrument, but it does have Wolfgang Uebel's signature initials "W.U." on the back.
This instrument shows very fine workmanship; please see pictures of the top, sides and back, and note the flame holes and scroll. Golden-orange color on this one. Has 7 playing strings (bowed), with 7 sympathetic strings underneath. Would be ideal for an early music/Baroque ensemble, or for a collector.
