***Although we have sold new Buffet and Selmer clarinets for more than seven decades, it is our opinion that vintage French instruments are superior to the newer models. Simply said, the wood quality is better on the older instruments. And as we often tell clients, "If a wood clarinet is going to develop cracks, it will do so within the first several months of its life. Conversely, if it's more than a year old and has not cracked, there's a good chance it never will. "
