New L'Olifant "1979 model" Version 3 Double French Horn in Yellow Brass, Detachable Bell Flare, Unlacquered, made in Paris, France
About L'Olifant horns per their website:
"The desire to create the L'Olifant French horn was passed down to me by my father, Bertrand Jeannoutot, who introduced me to the French horn with a capital C..."
In my childhood, my father told me the stories of the great horn makers, their ideas, their careers, and their expertise. He introduced me to the works in which the horn is featured, as well as the various artists who bring it to life. All these stories shaped my desire to participate in this adventure by contributing my part and offering musicians a new French horn. -" Arthur Jeannout
The techniques used to make our instruments have existed for centuries in instrument making.
They have evolved over time, with the technological evolution of each era.
From the 1990s onwards, the choice by large groups to manufacture instruments industrially gradually led to the disappearance of artisanal know-how…
Our artisanal expertise allows us to be more innovative in the design and creation of our instruments. In our case, innovation lies in having crafted a modern instrument using the finest techniques that handcrafting has to offer. We are currently the only instrument maker in France and internationally to produce our instruments in this way. While undoubtedly the most challenging method, it results in a product that is far more vibrant, personal, and of exceptional quality… and, moreover, just as reliable as high-end, mass-produced instruments.
The L'Olifant Model 1979 horn will bring you great satisfaction thanks to its acoustic richness and the breadth of its sonic possibilities. It will respond with finesse and precision to the demands of the most delicate as well as the most intense contexts.
Thanks to the latest mathematical models developed by the L'Olifant team, flawless intonation is ensured across the entire sound spectrum. The conicity of the leadpipe through to the large bore, as well as the shape of the bell, have been meticulously crafted in L'Olifant's workshop. Various studies on brass alloys and wall thicknesses have made it possible to achieve a subtle balance between delicacy and power.
You will benefit from a clear attack, great playing comfort, excellent responsiveness, and a noble, refined tone.
