A good French violin from the workshop of Laberte-Humbert Freres, bearing the label: "Fait sous la Direction de / Marc LaBerte / Maitre Luthier / Mirecourt (Vosges) France / No. 607 / 1933" with the date and number written in black ink. Back length is 355 mm, and weight without chinrest is 428 grams. Varnish is of a medium red-orange color. Two piece back of medium flame Vosges maple. Top is spruce of narrow grain, widening slightly to the flanks. The violin has no cracks or damage of any kind.
