Fine German Wood Baroque Violin/Viola da Gamba Bow by Walter Mettal
For your consideration, a very fine example by renowned German bow maker Walter Mettal, born in Schoenbach. He originally trained with his father, and later specialized in bows for string instruments. He won a bronze medal in bow-making at the Kassel Exhibition in 1983, after which he famously declined to enter further competitions and dedicated his life to making only high-quality bows.
Mettal's bows demonstrate very high-quality workmanship; ours is a stick made of palisander (rosewood), with ebony frog. Total length of 740 mm, with a weight of 54 grams. Our item ID #E006Ba.
In like-new condition with no damage. Never sold.
