Used Leblanc Noblet Bass Clarinet; serial #14019
Made in France (not Elkhart), this one's a VERY clean LeBlanc / Noblet bass that's come to us in very fine original condition.
No cracks to the wood, the nickel-plated keywork is perfect, with no worn spots. Bell and neck are dent-free and look almost new. ALL pads and corks have been replaced in our shop in Wichita. We have SIXTY-THREE years experience with rebuilding pro-quality woodwinds, especially vintage flutes and French clarinets.
This one's a very fine example, with no signs of wear or damage. The case is French from "BAM" and is new. And we've put a new VanDoren mouthpiece with it as well.
After Conn-Selmer bought LeBlanc's workshop in France, manufacture of all bass clarinets was moved to Elkhart. Regretfully (our opinion), the USA instruments are inferior to the French. The instruments from LeCouture have stronger keywork, the mechanism is fitted better. And the SOUND better, as well.
The "Noblet" models all were built in the LeBlanc workshop in LaCouture, a bit west of Paris. The French workshop closed up a dozen or more years ago, when owner Leon Pascucci sold the firm to "Conn-Selmer division of Steinway Properties".
