THIS INSTRUMENT PLAYS AT A SLIGHTLY LOWERED A=435Hz PITCH. IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE IN MODERN/SCHOOL BAND/ORCHESTRA SETTINGS THAT TUNE TO THE MODERN A=440Hz STANDARD.

This 1896 Buffet-Crampon Modele 13 Bb Clarinet came to us without any cracks in the wood, sharp tenons, minimal wear to the rings, and its original unplated nickel-silver keywork (no silver/nickel plate). It now wears new pads and corks from our shop in Wichita, courtesy of our woodwind repair technician.

It's old, but an excellent instrument that demonstrates the benefits of top quality wood and workmanship. This pre-1920 clarinet was built at an A=435Hz pitch, which makes it perfect for use in “original instrument” bands and orchestras that tune to the lowered pitch, or for collectors/museums interested in a lightly restored antique.

The instrument comes with the original French case and mouthpiece.
