Vintage E.M. Shorts Guitars Poster from the Early Days
ALL NEW AND USED GUITARS sold by us come with our 24-month service warranty, which is in addition to factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair the instrument at no charge to the customer (except for the price of parts). We will perform one fret level within 30 days, and do any neck adjustments required at our store at no cost to you. In the event of cracked or damaged wood sections, we will repair at no cost to the customer or replace the section and charge the customer only for our costs (wholesale) for parts. Often, these are supplied to us at no charge. The customer is responsible for shipping charges. Cases, finishes and plating are, unfortunately, usually not covered by warranties.
SHIPPING AND ORDERING INFORMATION:
Anything we sell can be sent to you for a short approval period (five days from the day that you receive it) without any obligation. For credit card orders only, there will be a 2.95% restocking fee for returned items. The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance, and must pre-pay back to us any freight charges on returned equipment.

UPS is the preferred shipper. Instruments are sent in a sturdy carton, prepaid by us and insured.

Basically, to send it to you on a five day approval period, we need:
1) your full name
2) home address (should be the same as your credit card billing address)
3) work and home telephone number
4) Visa, Mastercard or Discover number and exp. date for the cost of the instrument and the shipping charge. We do also accept certified checks, money orders, wire transfers, or we can send COD for cash or money order.
Free Setup info:
It's hard for us to gauge what type of a player you are by talking to you on the phone or e-mail. If you want a truly perfect setup for you, please give us some measurements from a guitar that you own that you like the setup on (assuming as well that your truss rod is setup correctly). Hold down the low E string at the first fret. Measure the exact distance from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string right above the 12th fret. Repeat this procedure for the high E string (or G string if bass). Also, please let us know which gauge of strings you prefer. If you request a setup of "low as possible without buzzing", we will set it up slightly lower than standard action and make sure that all the frets are level.
We set our prices low to begin with, so you don't need to "wheel and deal" to get a lower price. Usually we can beat a price offered by another dealer if lower than ours, but sometimes we can't. But, keep in mind, do you really want that guitar that has never been looked at when received at the dealer before it is sent to you? It's possible that it could be defective or needs major setup. Do you really want to mess with sending it back to the dealer or taking it to a service center and wait for repairs?
GOT GIBSONS? (Or a Martin, Mossman, Fender, Gretsch, PRS, Larrivee, Dobro, National or other makes). We're always looking for quality vintage and used instruments and amplifiers. American made guitars, mandolins, banjos, ukuleles and amps are always welcome -- Good imports as well. If you have an instrument you would like to sell, please let us know. Please understand that we prefer to evaluate the instrument in person before agreeing to buy or consign. Condition and originality are important with any vintage or used piece, and so is playability. Previous repairs may not be obvious to you, but will be to us. Also, because we warranty everything we sell, we need to know if your instrument needs any work (neck reset, refret, electronics work, etc...) before we agree to buy it.
Please let us know up front what price you need for your instrument. We pay top prices for these instruments, but obviosly, we cannot pay a retail price for them. All of our instruments that we take in are fully reconditioned by us, so please take this into account when giving us your price. We do take some types of instruments on consignment. Please call, fax or e-mail if you have anything!
Please don't call or e-mail us and ask us what something is worth. If you want to know what something is worth, EBAY is a good place to start. Obviosly, we can't see it over the telephone and we don't give appraisals this way. We cannot help you if you call, fax or e-mail us with a description of your instrument and ask us "What's this worth?". Also we kindly ask that if you're trying to sell us something that you pay for the call. Thank you
If you have an instrument to sell, and we're not interested at that time, we may be interested in taking your instrument on consignment. If you are interested in this, we ask that you notify us before you ship it to us. We request that the instrument be in the best physical and playing condition possible (see above). We may be able to arrange for some repairs if we're not too back-logged with our own repairs.
Basically, we take your price, and add a percentage (usually around 20%) for our profit to get the selling price. If your instrument is more expensive often we can work out a lower percentage for our consignment rate. Of course, keep in mind that a lower price would possibly bring a quicker sale. After the instrument sells, we will send you a company check. All of our consignments we advertise in our shop, in a number of periodicals, and on our web page at http://www.wichitaband.com. Our web page has received considerable interest both in the U.S. and internationally. We would take full responsibility for the instrument while it is in our possession, and would insist on full payment in advance for anyone wanting to try the instrument. We can ship your instrument back to you at any time, and we only request that you pay for the shipping charges.
